We say, “Nothing lasts forever”.
You say “For God so loved the world that He gave his One and Only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
We save for a rainy day.
You say “Go and sell all your possessions… Then come, follow Me.”
We say, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease.”
You say, “The meek shall inherit the earth.”
We say, “First come, first serve.”
You say, “Those who are last shall be first.”
We say “God helps those who help themselves.”
You say, “Do not fear; I will help you.”
We say, “Do the crime, do the time.”
You say, “Go and sin no more.”
We say, “Don’t get angry, get even.”
You say, “Turn the other cheek.”
We work hard to get ahead in life.”
You say, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
We steer clear of hateful people.
You say, “Love your enemies.”
We strive to be independent and self-reliant.
You say, “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
We work to change people’s minds through activism.
You say to wash people’s feet and change hearts.❤️

I love this piece and also hope that our activism – carried out in the spirit of love – might by God’s grace change minds for the good.

I hope that, too : ) I think this means that sometimes God’s Way seems counterintuitive to us. We can know if we are where we are supposed to be, doing what we’re supposed to be doing, by the fruits of our labor.
