what are we doing?!

Acts 2

42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread (The Lord’s Supper) and to prayer.45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread (The Lord’s Supper) in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

We believe in the One True God, Creator of all that is – all matter and energy that we ourselves can neither create or destroy. We’ve been restored to Your Kingdom by the Sacrifice of Yourself through Your Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ – our Lord and Savior. Jesus conquered death for us! We should be leading radically different lives because of this Truth. We should stand out from the crowd – not like a sore thumb but like a Healed thumb! We belong to God. What are we doing living ordinary lives?! – still accumulating “stuff”? We sorrow when we see others who are suffering – others who are languishing in poverty. We shake our heads and return to our abundant lives, thinking we are powerless to help. Every morning we scan our crowded closets, choosing our attire for the day. Our cupboards are stocked with nourishing food. We climb into our SUVs and stop for a $6 gourmet coffee on our way to work. We scorn the upper class – the “rich” among us. We criticize billionaires for hoarding their wealth. We clamor for the government to do something to help the poor, when it is we who are called to share the BEST of all we have. We’re called to be the Body of Christ in this world – to dry tears, to relieve suffering, to feed God’s sheep. And we are right. We are powerless by ourselves – powerless to truly turn away from serving ourselves to serving You, Lord. But You have sent Your Holy Spirit to dwell in us – to heal and strengthen us! To radically transform our lives and change our direction. We then collaborate with You to shine Your Light into the darkness. We become conduits for Your Love and Salvation to flow to others. We unite to pray in Your Son’s Precious Name. Then Your Power flows through us into this world. Miracles occur that no one could have foreseen. Miracles that rock this world! Miracles of Love and Healing that awaken your sleeping children to You. All Glory, Praise, and Honor to You, Oh Lord! Amen❤️
